Personal life

Lasance is the son of Robert and Jan Lasance and has an older brother, Chad. He and his family lived in the town of Medowie, New South Wales before moving to the nearby city of Newcastle in 2002. He attended St. Philip's Christian College and studied drama as part of his Higher School Certificate before receiving further formal training as an actor at Screenwise in Sydney. In December 2008 he returned to Screenwise to teach a short acting course for young students.

His acting career required him to relocate to Sydney where he shared a flat with former Home and Away cast member Mark Furze. He has also shared an apartment with Lincoln Lewis, who played his enemy on the show. [1]

In December 2008 Lasance appeared in the music video of the song 'Favourite Habit', sung by Mark Furze's band Falcon Road. He was a candidate for the 2009 Cleo Bachelor of the Year.[2]

Lasance was involved in a car accident on Sunday 10 August 2008 in which his Toyota Supra collided with an elderly woman's Honda Civic. He and his passenger escaped with minor injuries, while the elderly driver was taken to hospital in a serious condition but later recovered sufficiently to be released.[3]

Arrest

On 12 December 2009, Lasance was arrested at a Kings Cross night club for possession of cocaine. He was subsequently ordered to serve a 12 month good behaviour bond.[4] This good behaviour bond has since been lifted.[5]

Career

TV Appearances/Film Debut

Lasance has had several guest roles on Australian television including McLeod's Daughters and Blue Water High.[6] Home And Away is Lasance's first main role in Australian and international television.

Lasance made his silver screen debut in the 2008 film Fool's Gold as a frat boy.[7] and attended the Australian premiere at Movieworld on 2 February 2008 on the Gold Coast with his Home and Away co-stars Lincoln Lewis and Paul O'Brien.[8]

Lasance recently filmed the mini-series adaption of Tim Winton's book Cloudstreet where he played the role of Quick Lamb. It will begin screening in 2011.[9]

Lasance has been cast in a movie spin-off of Australian series Underbelly, Underbelly Files: Tell Them Lucifer Was Here, which tells the story of two murdered police officers. According to the Australian Daily Telegraph, he will play police detective Dean Thomas.[10][11] Lasance joined Craig McLachlan for the third season of Rescue: Special Ops, playing a 'member of a rival rescue firm that goes up against the show’s main team'.[12]

In January 2011, Lasance was announced as starring in new legal drama Crownies as a principal character. The series is set to premiere in late 2011.[13]. He will star in Crownies with former Home and Away co-star Indiana Evans.

2012 will see Lasance portray Peter Mickelberg in the Channel Nine telemovie, The Great Mint Swindle. It follows the 20-year saga of the Mickelberg brothers and the most famous gold heist in Australia's history. [14]

Home and Away

Todd Lasance made his Home and Away debut on 4 August 2005 and appeared in 6 episodes as Aden Jefferies .[15] Late 2007 saw him return as Aden Jefferies and in October it was announced he would be included as a main cast member of the show. In 2008 he was officially included as a regular cast member, appearing in the official opening credits.[16]
